I had a similar problem on one of my other cars. The key had worn slightly along the biting cuts on the blade of the key, resulting in them not connecting with the tumblers inside the lock.
Fortunately my key had a reference number stamped onto the head of the key which my locksmith was able to trace and locate on the internet and subsequently produced a new key to the exact original specification. It took him approximately 15 minutes to find the spec and cut the new key.
The other alternative is to contact a locksmith to try and release the lock but that is only a short term solution.
