Andrew Blow's NZ Zagato et cetera
I am probably way behind the times here, but I have just been looking at Andrew Blow's website, which appears to have had a makeover. It's nice. Congratulations to Andrew for making Bristols look glamourous.
He has quite a selection of Bristols too, small but very refined. Brian's 406 Zagato. Which he wants £95k for. And a 404 from Australia, with price on application. If a Zagato can be had for £95, what is a 404 worth?
Also a 405. THe 404 and the 405 are the most voluptuous of cars. Absolutely beautiful. I have always hankered after a 405, after hearing Sir Paul Smith rave about his. Andrew is asking £17k for it. Is that an average price for an average car?
I was lucky enough to be in London a few weeks ago, in the middle of the heatwave, and visited Kensington High Street for the first time. Richard Hackett is a very nice man. I was wary of walking in, thinking Bristol tourism must be a nuisance for them. But he was absolutely charming, and even ran away to his office to give me a whole lot of magazine clippings, in answer to some inane question I probably asked.
I had to wonder what a Richard Branson or Liam Gallagher would have thought, fronting up to such an unashamedly small and modest showroom.
