Default Starter motor

Greg,
I tried to find one a while back A 318 unit is quite easy to source, but the
313 unit has a different flange and pinion

I found one company who could maybe make the flange and pinion, but no
certainty or price.

I stripped my standard unit cleaned it cleaned the comm and bedded in new
brushes. I also stripped the solenoid and cleaned the contacts and fitted a
heavier cable. I also refitted the earth cable. So far no problems. Starting
problems are seldom the motor itself, but all the associated other elements.
