Nick,
Typo excused - these things happen after a bottle of wine !
Good to see you are going. The organisers have been putting it about that the final number will be 900. I went on this Norwich Union run about 8 years ago, starting at Bath. At the first stop I accidentally found myself on the Prescott Hill Climb in 3" of mud. There was no going back as there was a line of fiery hillclimb cars behind me so I had to complete the whole course, slipping and sliding around and trying not to fall off the edge. What a nightmare. The final stop was at the MIRA proving ground. It would have been a great opportunity to put the 403 through it's paces. The cars on the top of the banking were doing over 110 m.p.h. Unfortunately I was running - in a reconditioned engine so I had to pootle around at the bottom of the banking at 50 m.p.h., being overtaken by Austin 7's ! Still, it was a wonderful day.
If any Bristol owner is hesitating about joining in - I can thouroughly recommend it. If the weather is kind it will be a worthwhile event as there still seems to be places available. It would be great to see some more Bristols entering. If it is too late to join in, as Nick says, pencil it in for next year.
Dave Dale.
