A special spanner? Wrench to remove what?
This must be very special, as I have lost count on how many English cars I have repaired/dismantled with few 'special tools' ever required. Even the complex Japanese cars from the early years were really no problem is one is improvisational enough to grasp the problem. Unless, of course, one is looking to find tools for a kit that came originally with the car. The little adjustable spanner with the marque's name, such as early Jaguars comes to mind. Any competent machine shop can reproduce most any tool.

The very special cylinder head spanner.
Gentlemen: The is a box wrench, and they have been manufactured since the earliest days of automobiles. The common name is a 'start wrench' and as the name implies, it is used to reach that top-most bolt holding in so many starters. They usually come in two sizes that fits most starters. As to remanufacture, the process is called CNC machining, and once the program is written, you may pop out as many replicas as you care to produce. You may even have them engraved, blackened, hardened and the rest. One 'original' will do, and the rest is simple economics.

Thank you Kevin, as I was struggling to post more pics from the eye pad ! And thanks Ronnie for describing what it isn't :-) but at least you are an expert and very knowledgeable on what it isn't.
Just joking ! :-) |

Used to see these in tool boxes, 1/2" and 9/16" with this shape. Starter or generator bolts. Ratchets took their place I bet.
