B400 - flasher relay
1 Attachment(s)
In Germany the authorities postulate an emergency flasher. I must install such an item. Therefore I need to know what kind of flasher unit may be behind that plate in the picture. Who knows?

B400 - flasher relay
Restoring my B400 I had the same problem.
As you refer to german authorities, i´ll answer in german: www.kabel-schmidt.de, tel. oo49 7634 6949808, hat zur Lösung dieses Problems eine Reihe kleiner zentraler Schaltkästen im Programm, die alle nötigen Funktionen übernehmen, sogar die Zuschaltung der Winker, wenn gewünscht. Vielleicht hilft`s weiter. |
Thanks for that hint!
I want to go on with the flasher unit installed. But if there are some solid state parts I guess I have to do a little protection if I install a switch and an additional flasher relay parallel to that unit. |
The easiest option to achieve what is needed would be to fit a Hazard Warning Light Kit supplied by Gil Keane of Better car lighting.
If you contact him you will find him very helpful and I am sure he will be able to sort you out as this issue was covered in the latest edition of Rolls Royce and Bentley driver magazine. Website is www.bettercarlighting.co.uk |
Today I tested it and now I am sure that solid state elements are present. I will protect the circuit with diodes. I hope that will not pull the tension down too much. I already have a suitable illuminated switch and an additional flasher relay.

The unit is still unknown. In the meantime I've installed the hazard relay. The traficators can be activated with a switch too (strictly forbidden in D but allowed on private ground).
For those who want to see the diagram I attache it. |
