403 Half Shafts

I've had the misfortune to break a half shaft at the wheel, could have been very nasty!
Does anyone know where I might find a replacement? Judging by the 4 stud to 5 stud extension bolted to the hub I suspect that a stock item was used.
Any assistance greatly appreciated.

Glad to hear you and the car are all right. That sort of thing doesn't usually end well.

I'm new to Bristols (thinking about purchasing a 403 project I recently came across), so I can't help much as far as your question is concerned.

But I am wondering if you could post a few pictures of the rear end and brakes, as long as you have things apart. I am trying to get a feel for what is stock and what is not for these 403s - it will drastically affect my interest in the project car. Despite my efforts it is very difficult to find such information/pictures in the US and on the Internet.

Thanks!

All the manuals and information you need are available on the Ashley James site or BODA or BOC if you want to join a Bristol car club.

Half shafts

I have broken half shafts on my Arnolts and have welded them with good results. Also it is a good idea to machine them at the step to remove the stress concentration there and to shot peen the area. Take a look at the sketch at:
Racing Arnolt Bristols
I never had a welded one fail.
