What wood type and finish on '64 408 dash??
The doorsil and dash top wood on my '64 408 is in rough shape, especially the thicker ends of the dash top where they meet the windshield pillars - lots of water must have leaked in here, as the different layers are separating and have lost all their finish. Does anyone know what type of wood was used, and what type of finish was used originally? I'd like to try my hand at refinishing the wood myself but don't know what the best glues/finish materlals are for this type of wood as I can't identify it in the first place. Any guidance would be highly appreciated.
