Tappet Covers 411
Does Anyone Know If Bristol Ever Produces An Alloy Tappet Covers For 383 400 Series Motors
|
Always pressed steel from the factory as far as I'm aware.

Hello,
I thought I'd seen alloy or chrome tappet covers on the options offered by Bristol Cars. However,a wide range of alloy and chrome covers are available from the MOPAR/Chrysler suppliers. I've used Pentastar Parts.com.au here in Australia. They have a good web site. If you do consider these, suggest you check on the possible mods that Bristol Cars might have made to the original steel ones. On the 409, the oil filler pipe is extended Mike O |
For Pentastar try-

Sorry Guys
What I Am Actually Looking For Are Alloy Covers With Bristol Cast Into Them. I Appreciate There Are 100,s Of After Market Sets Available. I Felt I Saw Years Ago A Set With Bristol Cast Or Machined On To Them

Only ones I've seen with Bristol on is the V10 Fighter -- I think it was only Jensen that personalised them, so maybe you are thinking of the Jensen ones.

Greg You May Well Be Right
Shame As You Look Under The Bonnet Of A 6 Cylinder Car And You Go Wow Look Under The Bonnet Of A V8 , Very Average |
Should be fairly straightforward to have some cast or fabricated ones CNC machined with whatever you want.

Ones like these have a space to add raised letters or machine a name into -- should obtain the OEM look you are after.

Maybe just buy a couple of these from eBay to stick on the covers with the blank space

here's a couple of examples
I believe the Jensen one may be original, but not the Bristol one |
Yep , the Bristol 412 has Mickey Thomas valve covers and they have done what I suggested -- the cast aluminium ones are probably the best to personalise and come up on eBay all the time.
I just prefer them powder coated black |
