Manual for 411 Series 3
 

I'm having work done on my 1972 Series 3 in California and wondering if and how i can get hold of a copy of the Manual. Can anyone help? Many thanks.

Richard, are you after an owners manual or a workshop manual?

i was hoping for a workshop manual so the mechanic has some detailed info. Would that be contained in the Owners Manual? I notice there are some really good post on the site with engine//electrical..mechanical specifics.

Richard, the Owners Manual is pretty basic stuff, nothing like a workshop manual.

I'm not sure which Bristol model was the last to have a proper workshop manual, but once Tony Crook took over, detailed information ceased to be issued by the company. This may have been due to ever reducing numbers of cars sold, or secrecy as part of his marketing strategy.

Thankfully the cars are really quite straightforward.

They have a bog standard Chrysler V8 (yours will be a 383), a standard Torqueflite transmission (727) and a Salisbury rear axle (often with a limited slip diff), ZF power steering and Girling brakes.

There are a few unusual aspects, like some of the front suspension components, but all the information you need is on this site. If you drill down in the Resources section you will find parts lists for the 410, but that shares many components with the 411.

Also, some components are unique to Bristol. Brake discs, bumpers and front screens come to mind, and some suspension components.
