Claimed to be 1963 Earls Court Motor Show display car and the first post-prototype made.

This 408 is chassis 408/7002 probably the 2nd production car .
I have no record of the 408 Prototype but most likely a 407 with a few detail differences.

408/7001 has been in Australia for more than 20 years and recently changed hands . It was the Autocar Road test car originally registered "408UHU"
