Default Corrosion?

I'm thinking about a 410 or 411, but have heard of cars having "substantial work" done to the bodywork. It seems to be mostly the inner body - "between" the outer skin and the chassis.
Are Bristols better or worse for rust than cars of a similar age? How well does the chassis itself survive?
Opinions/experiences gratefully received.
Thanks, Dave.
