408 How do I remove the glovebox?

1 Attachment(s)
I found 4 screws. two on each side of the glovebox that I removed and the glovebox moves back and down but then gets stuck. It looks like one of the air ducts to the windscreen defrosting slots is in the way but that looks like it would be very hard to reattach. Is this duct the only obstruction? I had expected the glovebox to push back then move down and out in the footwell.

Thanks

David

Hi David

The air ducts are just attached by a jubilee clip to the heater, which protrudes through the bulkhead - you have to lie under the dashboard but it’s not that bad. I am not honestly sure if you have to take this off though.

There is also a light which you need to take out to get the glovebox off.

And there is tape at the front which attaches the box to the metal frame.

If you ever need 2ba rivnuts, Land Rover suppliers sell some.

Thanks, Giles. I'll have another go tomorrow. I was lying under there sort of upside down too long and got very giddy. Obviously I am not aging as well as I thought I was!!!

I did get it out though it took a bit of force. It didn't seem to be taped to the dash but the lower lip was resting on a loose piece of wood that sits on the inner lip of the dashboard underside.

Now the glovebox is out, I can get at the fresh air vent and see about getting it operational.
