412 Rear axel bearings.
My mechanic tells me that the noise I thought was the differential is in fact a rear wheel bearing. Does anyone have a cross number in order to otain quick replacements.

412 Rear axel bearings.
Typically you pull the 1/2 shaft and then the bearing. Go to a bearing
supplier with the old one. They will match the numbers and give you a new one. Do both sides as bearings are very cheap. There is no guarantee that having a cross number will be of any use, since you can't be sure all axles used the same ones. Dorien |
Peter,
As you probably know it's a Salisbury axle, very likely to be a 4HA or 4HU (with PWR LOCK diff), but as Dorien suggested best way to be sure is to take the bearing out - it will almost certainly have identifying markings on it. Sorry I can't be of more help, but when you find out can you let us know. Regards, Kevin |
