A very good site to look up any info on Mopar small block engines except
the 313 which they do not
admit to. But all info on 318 and later models appears.

Valve myth laid to rest?

Thanks Bob, reading of this dispels the much-quoted myth of changes Bristol made to the valve gear of the 313!

This myth was first dispelled by Guy Drummond QC, in the Spring 1975 Bristol Owners Club Bulletin, issue #37, although it was no doubt kept alive by numerous journalists and authors

The myth had first been given undue authority by Setright in his book "Bristol Cars and Engines".

Ironically Setright was the Editor of the BOC Bulletin in those days and in a footnote to Guy Drummond's letter, LJKS mentioned his embarrassment about the error. If I remember correctly he also owned up to his mistake (and gullibility) in his later book, "A Private Car".
