407 only 88 made how many left??
I am thinking of importing a 407 from outwith the EU and duty is 10%, but if I can show that the car is rare and therefore worth preswerving or has an interesting history/background then I can get the duty reduced accordingly.
So can I have best guesses or informed responses to indicate the number that might be remaining. |
Hi
According to the register There are 407P x 3 407V x 1 407Z x 1 407 x 61 of which there are 2 in Australia, 1 VIC and 1 NSW. |
wow I am completely flabergasted with the speed and accuracy of that response.
If all goes well with the purchase I'll tell if I was succcessful with my appeal. |
Plse tell me what the suffix P V & Z mean, and are all 61 of the others KNOWN to still exist? (problem s to make the car as rare as pos I need as few as pos to still remain.

V would be Viotti, Z = Zagato and P, I would guess is for "prototype".
If these cars are on the register then it is likley that most if not all of them still exist. Which is quite amazing - 66 out of 88 made. |

> P is Prototype with mainly Armstrong Siddely engine
V is Vioti an italian Coach builder onlt ! and it was a convertable, owned by Peter Sellers wife and then Catole Cook, Z is Zagato a specialist italian coach builer as you no doubt know. Of the other 61 registered with the club you will not find many in "roadworthy condition", lots are " undergoing restoration and "of the road" Nick 407 6028 > > > > > > |
