Why didn't you ask them ? The window switches could have gone where the cig lighters are and push button solenoids for the door openers !
I like them as they are but prefer the chrome door openers from the MG store. |
Re: Closed "Water Ingress", and new leather...
Hi Greg, I think we are at cross purposes here. O am perfectly happy with the door handles/pulls an the placement of the switches and ashtray is perfect. It is the rubber door trims that go around the door and window apertures I would like to make less of a feature

Greg,
. Having seen that car once, it should not be allowed out in daylight. Is that the one you thought wire wheels would look good on? . It could not make it any worse! |
Ah , thought it was a strange request ! No suggestions for that.

Re: Closed "Water Ingress", and new leather...
'Fraid I had to resort to Wikipedia once again....
Man-made fabric 68% polyester/32% urethane made by Alcantara SpA in Nera Montoro, Italy. Looks very tacky in a Ford Mondeo, but who wouldn't? |
Re: Closed "Water Ingress", and new leather...
Looks aside, is there any reason why wire wheels aren't suitable from a technical perspective? I can't recall having ever seen them on a Bristol

Re: Closed "Water Ingress", and new leather...
I stand corrected. One less thing to feel guilty about I suppose.
Is West of England cloth hard to get a hold of? Paul |
The only thing I can think of is whether wire wheels could cope with high torque but the wire wheels I posted on the other thread are designed to cope with XJS Jag grunt ! Will you try them for me please :-)

The only Bristol I have seen with wire wheels is a 401. I was looking at a Alvis 21 with wire wheels and thought it looked superb.

Re: Closed "Water Ingress", and new leather...
If the Astons and Ferraris could cope with them I am sure they must be up to the task, they might be a bit flash for anything post 411 though.
I have seen a Morgan with ultra low profile tyres on wire wheels and it looked fantastic. A job for someone with Photoshop perhaps? Paul |
For the wire wheels I was thinking 408 to 411 S1 and maybe 405

I had an Audi that had it covering the seats and it started bobbling after 50k miles so it is not hard wearing enough for sitting on. Mercedes used to offer a similar material called Amaretta for the w126 S-Class seats but it is rare to find a car with this as it was as expensive as the leather/velour option. |
