My boot lid has a desire to close rather than stay open. Is there a cure? Can one fit new hinges with springs or even fit new springs?

Here, it is a hell of a hot day today. Beer flows in cold streams!

Check the mechanism. Are you able to put more tension on the springs?

I see mad dogs and Englishmen as soon as the sun comes out.

I don't know the cure, but I have seen at least one 603 with gas struts fitted as their springs were clearly saggy too.

I am sure that Brian Marelli at Bristol Car Services will be able to advise.

If you don't like the bungee idea !

I fitted wing mirrors on my 411. I realise now I can use them as (future) attachment / anchor points for the bungee cords.

Genius-- they will automatically close the doors as well !

I like the idea of gas struts as an aid to lifting but will still ask Brian Marelli if there is another cure
