Brigand electrical issues & headlight bulb replacement

A couple of really silly questions... I have the MOT inspection
for my 1989 Brigand coming up Tuesday, and checking everything,
I noticed one headlight being out, as well as the windscreen
washer not working.

Things would be easier with an electric diagram, as I have
established that the windscreen washer pump doesn't get any
voltage, and works fine when fed a direct +12V. The switch
seems to work OK, as the wipers start working when pulling
the lever. I assume there is a relay somewhere in the path
between the switch and the pump motor to switch on the wipers,
but finding it is non-trivial.

The other thing is the headlight - how do you change the bulb?
Taking off the grille I get to 2 bolts that attach the headlight
unit at the end closer to the grille, but the end towards the
outer wing is still attached somehow.

Thankful for any hints or pointers,

Julf

Hi
I don't know if the washer/wiper set up is exactly the same as the 603, but there is a pdf wiring diagram for the w/w/w on the BOC members pages in the Library.

There is also a wiring diagram for the H/lights in case it isn't simply a bulb failure.

Thanks! It is probably similar (despite the Brigand not having the foot switch), but the diagram isn't actually very helpful, as it has no color codes or explanations (are "2 DA" and "3 DA" connectors, or timers, or something else - and no explanation about what pin does what). In fact the diagram made me even more confused, as it looks like one of the pins of the washer motor is connected through the wiper motor.

You can also get it from the Resources section on this site;

I see what you mean. The diagram looks really useful until you actually go to use it! :)
