New headlamps

I have a 411 Series 6 (was a Series 5), which I've purchased 4th hand. One of my headlights is cracked but still functioning, while I've noticed condensation inside it and another one of the headlights. My question is if anyone has any experience of replacing the halogen headlights with brighter ones. Any guidance would be appreciated. I was also considering replacing indicator lights with brighter ones (LED maybe). Any tips on that would be much appreciated too. I should point out that I'm in Canada, so I don't have the same easy access to mechanics with Bristol experience as many of you have.

LED headlamps

The two types of LED headlamps we have used on Land Rover Defenders, which also use 7 inch lamps, are from 'Speaker' and 'Startech'. Speaker is a USA company, Startech is German.

They give good light, but look slightly odd. The total power consumption is reduced compared to Halogen.

All best, Thor.

I find the light output superb on the 7 inch Halogen lamps. I would not replace them with any other tech.

(just my 2 cents..!)

If the lens are cracked the loss of light may be due to corrosion of the silvering of the reflectors. You might find new units would be the best solution, you can get Cibies on ebay for under £100 a pair.

( I do not have any economic interest in Holden Classic & Vintage)

A good selection of 7 inch lamps at Holden, cheap as chips!
The Cibies are 34 UKP each.

Better still, you can freshen up the whole lamps for £80 , including plastic bowls that won't react with the aluminium body of the car !! A vulnerable corrosion issue on a Bristol...
