Certina watches, any connection?
 

While browsing through Ebay.ch I chanced on a Certina Bristol 230 watch and a little googling found other numbered Certina Bristol models made through the 50's and 60's. Here's a pic of one (see attached image below);

Does anyone know if this was a formal connection with the aircraft or car manufacturer or some other reference (to the city or hotel chain maybe)?
