James Bond

Someone incorrectly once stated that James Bond drove a Bristol and not an Aston Martin / Bentley.

Well, there is a connection. When James Bond was in his Aston, the owner of Aston Martin, Victor Gauntlett was driving a 411 S2. I know this because it's on my driveway. ( and I think it may have an oil leak gadget fitted )

Cool eh! I bet you are shaken but.......

There's another connection: John Barrie had the first production 411,
frequently sitting on my driveway.

I thinks there's one of those on my 411, it came with the new engine!

I wonder what a Bristol would be worth now if Bond instead of Linley drove one?

I probably wouldn't be able to afford one !

Sid Lovesey would have made a brilliant "Q" and someone told me Mr Crook has three nipples!

I can't remember if the films changed the vehicle Bond drove, I know he drove an old Bentley in one of the earlier books (Film??) but Linley drove a Bentley in the books, so the TV people changed it to a Bristol.

The Batmobile in the book was a Bristol 401 and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was based on the same running gear as the Blenheim. This helped it fly !

The Blenheim 4 still holds the 1/4 mile record on the Seacroft salt flats !!

Some facts are yet to be officially verified but are all probably true.

I think in the first series, or maybe just the pilot show, he drove a Jensen.

I wonder if Bristol would build a series 6 Jenson FF if you asked them nicely ?

Could be a nice beastie !
