Stanford Uni Digital Resource Bristol Engined Cars
Just wanted to share this link to an excellent stock of b/w photos including many Bristols and Bristol Engined Cars
See if you can find the one where Stirling Moss is seen presenting a trophy to Mr Crook at Brands Hatch ...and one of them is dressed as Santa Claus ! True https://revslib.stanford.edu Includes a the George Phillips collection "Englishman George Phillips was the Autosport Director of Photography from the 1950s through the 1970s. Phillips covered most Formula One races and the major endurance races, like Le Mans, and he also shot extensively at auto shows, production car road tests and auto club races and tours. A large body of his work is shot in Great Britain. The George Phillips Collection includes 60,000 images and one finds in them all the significant manufacturers and popular race car drivers during what some consider the Golden Age of motor sport. The period covered ranges from 1948 through 1964." Revs Digital Library All the best Malcolm Noble |
Malcolm ,
what a fantastic collection of period photos , it is well worth the few hours I spent looking at just a very small selection of the collection. Thanks Geoff |
Indeed. Very nice pictures, most of them never seen before (at least by me). Detailed dash pictures for example show original fitment, so quite useful when restoring one's car.

Zorglub ,
What type of Bristol do you have ? Are there any other Bristols in UAE? Geoff |
I have a 408 - LHD "series 6". Unique experiment by BCL before they went into administration and initially intended for export to the U.S.
The car is currently in Lebanon awaiting final recommissioning. As for as I know there are no other Bristols in the Middle East despite claims that some Britania/Brigand/Blenheim were shipped there. If they were, they must be stored deeply... |
