lucas dcb 121c condenser
Hello, in my ac ace I have a 85c engine,
Ihave problems with the condenser the points are burned(pitted) I now mounted a condenser which is normaly used in a Triumph TR3A It works oke. Can this give any problems? Thanks |

No, the condenser is just there to prevent arcing; it won't give you any trouble.

I'm not a Auto Electrician but know the condenser vary in capacity . I cant find the values of 6 cylinder Bristol condensers (Lucas part #407044) or TR3 (423871) but looking at values of other cars condenser it can vary between 0.18 - 0.32 MFDS . It is probably dependant on coil & points used. Most likely the TR condenser will be suitable but if not it will probably quickly burn/pit the points. Surely you can go to a spare parts shop and buy the correct one , they are readily available in Australia. Geoff |
