Arnolt Bristol Article
Hi all -
I don't know if this was mentioned previously, but the June 2010 of "Hemmings Sports and Exotic Cars" has a 6 page article on the restoration of an Arnolt Bristol "A Sudy in Metalwork". A friend recently sent it to me and I've scanned it. The same issue has a column by Karl Ludvigsen that recounts his memories of ownership of a Frazer Nash Mille Miglia. I met the original and current owner of that car in Honolulu a few months ago. The September issue of "Classic Cars" has an article about Jim Trigwell's Frazer Nash Le Mans Replica and Mille Miglia - both spectacular examples. Bob Frazer Nash owner |

Hi Bob,
Can you post the scanned article here? Or would that be prevented by copyright? John Simmons Arnolt Owner |

Could I get a copy also? I am currently restoring my Arnolt Bristol Bolide and it would be most helpful. Thanks. John Stanley, john@hdpublishing.com

Yes Mr. Declerck, I have that one on my list. As you know, 3069 was one of my old cars. I would like to have the full name of the owner of 3072 for my list.

I've what I believe is a Deluxe model, it has removeable side "curtain" windows, fold down convertible top, top is not original, but curtain seem to be. Engine is a GM V8, some sort of alum adapter plate to the orig transmission & drive train. Original wheels but no hub caps, medallions & grill are missing. I bought out a salvage yard about 30 years ago & have kept it on a trailer ever since. No ID plates are on the dash to ID the year, so is there a number stamped elsewhere in or around the body??

The serial number can be found on the frame, right side near the motor mount.
It will be 404-X-3_ _ _ . Bill |

CapitanBilly,
To help, here are some pictures of the chassis number locations on other Arnolts. It's possible the one on the frame was destroyed by the engine swap, depending on where and how they located the motor mount supports for the V-8. There was also a brass plate mounted on the top of the frame rail next to the stamping (at least on the ones I have pictures of), and two plates on the firewall in the engine compartment, one from Bristol, and one from SH Arnolt.
