"By the way, there's no such thing as a "std RB 383" (the 383 is a B block - you should know, you had one in your 411 S3!)."

Pretty sure the 383 came both in B & RB versions - odd, but that's the lore!

Damn, I should have checked! Sorry Clyde. Pretty obscure though and I bet there aren't many around today.

Okay Clyde, so what vehicle used the 383 RB engine?

Allpar.com has the answer at the bottom of
http://www.allpar.com/mopar/383.html

It's a great source for Mopar material, of course. Surprisingly, the
ImperialClub.com site is a great source for original tech material
applying to all Chrysler products - complete service manuals and many
of the Master Service Technicians Conference booklets. See

Thanks Bob, Allpar has improved considerably since I last looked at it.

It says the RB 383 was used on the US built Chrysler Windsor and Saratoga in 1959 and 1960. Of the 3,000,000 383s made, 99,568 were RBs. Incidentally there is an error on the table that shows this info.

It's a shame the Allpar site doesn't say who these guys are who provide this info, it would give it a bit more credibility.
