You could have problems matching it with the original existing timberwork as it isn't a timber product thus compromising the authenticity of the car.

..... Having seen it used on a Bentley Special you are absolutly right, its rather like trying to make up a dash board sourced from a number of cars all with slightly different veneer it just wont match, if you use it to cover the lot it will overcome that problem. The car I saw had it applied straight onto a metal base it looked quite good and seems quite durable re the weather, the car being run with the hood down nearly all the time, but not so good on impact abrasion damage.
A section had to be re done after a surface cut, It is used quite a lot on modern cars but may not look right on cars of the 400 to 405 period which often had a plain wood finish.

Ah - so it's mainly intended for the kit car market, like the AC / Arnolt type cars.

I think I will order some to take a look at.

Yes for the kit and custom builders basically, Europa also actually did real wood Burr Walnut veneered panels, a Burr Walnut laminate with a "plastic finish" and turned aluminium panels so that the Frazer Nash boys wouldn't feel left out!!.
They also used to sell a spray lacquer and epoxy resin dashboard finisher and if you were starting with one of their laminated panels an adjustable hole cutter.
I dug out their old book, must see if they are still going and get the latest edition as I have just about got all the old lacquer of the door and window capping's on my 410.

Regarding the A.C and Arnolt Bristol being "Kit cars" I must take
exception. I can't vouch for the A.C., but I assure you that there is no phony
wood grain in any Arnolt Bristol, and they certainly were not a "Kit Car"

Anyone who would put a phony wood dash covering on the dash board of their
Arnolt Bristol would probably be drawn and quartered. :-)
