![]() Unfortunately, I am not a Bristol expert. However, I am pretty sure that
early model V8's were "Polysphere" 313's and 318's. About 1967 or 1968, Mopar switched from the Polysphere engine to a smaller wedge head engine. This engine evolved into the 340 and 360 cubic inch engines. According to Setright's "LITTLE RED BOOK", the 407, 408, and probably 409 should have been Polysphere engines. The 410 could have been either engine, but I would "guess" that it was the small block wedge head engine. The engine for sale has rectangular valve covers and is definitely a late wedge head. The Polysphere engine has different looking valve covers. Of course, the 411 is a completely different animal with the 383. Jim McQuay West Linn, OR |
