BRISTOL 400 and 401 Repair Manual

Hi from New Zealand. Sorting through my father-in-law's books and found an original BRISTOL 400 and 401 manual (whole punched but loose leaf i.e. not in a folder). I am unsure if it is complete (it is 60 A3 pages) and it isn't in perfect condition although still very usable. Front page heading says: "BRISTOL 400 GENERAL DATA, DIMENSIONS AND SPECIFICATIONS". The footer on all pages reads "British Repair Manual - Cars. Copyright 1954 Scientific Magazines Publishing Co. " Anyone interested in it or can offer advice on whether this is a complete manual?

It's sounds like the standard model information that people can download for free from club sites.

Maybe worth putting on ebay ! If it isn't photocopied.

The only Bristol 400 manual I have ever seen was approx A5 size. If your's is A3 then maybe someone made some enlargements from an original?

EDIT: The manual I had was "Running and Maintenance of the Bristol 2 Litre Car Type 400", so in effect an "owners manual".

It definitely doesn't appear to be copied. It looks very old/yellowed and the larger print feels indented like an original.

I should have read your original post more thoroughly!

This suggests it has been reprinted, possibly in larger format, by Scientific Magazines Publishing Co.

However, given that they claim copyright, maybe they have created the manual from scratch rather than reprint something that Bristol issued.

You may be able to see on the photo I added to my previous post, that the manual I had was "Published by The Bristol Aeroplance Company (Car Division)".
