405 Heater box area - paint finish or felt lined ?

I’m busy removing pieces of old felt and glue from the scuttle area where the Smiths heater box goes. I’m not sure that the felt is original - some areas are paint finish only and one painted section...

Those kits fit Hillman Minx, Husky and Rapier rear...

Did 405 carpets originally have rubber mats in some sections ?

405 chassis 4049 has carpets with sections of rubber mat sewn on in some places. The rear outer pieces where they fold over the chassis, and at the front the driver's side of the gear shift cover...
