411 412 Bonnet Hinges
 

My newly acquired 412 has worn out bonnet hinges, can any one help in any way as to where I might get a set or what other car they have come off.

I have solved the problem of the worn out hinges on the bonnet of my early 412. I took the original hinges to a chap that does water jet cutting and he made a set of new gears with the correct size teeth. I then cut the old gears off and welded the replacements in their place. The hinge now works perfectly. Any one wanting a set of replacement gears feel free to contact me. They were cheap to make and he has kept the details in his computer. The hinges are the same as 411 and I suspect the same for other V8 models.
