Default 401/3 door card

Has anyone experience of remanufacturing the door cards for the 401/3?

My plywood has delaminated and disintegrated. I am thinking of replacing it with 3mm marine ply and reusing the other bits from the old card as they seem to be in good condition.

My anxiety is how the card is built up and when it needs to be lined with leather before other parts, principally the door pocket and top panel, can be added.

Progress is slow but still forward!

Unhappy Door Trim

I attempted to do mine when rebuilding panel frame of door but retired wounded and sent them off to the upholsterer, I simply did not have the skill. The choice is yours !

Default 401/3 door cards

Been investigating mine recently, I need to remake all the components - nothing like as straight forward as they look at a glance are they?
I made sectional sketches as I dismantled one, and have kept the other one intact for reference.
Suggest you take lots of photographs of course - it's always the one you haven't taken that you need to look at ....

Default Door Moulding - 403

My trimmer had a look at the (remains) of my door card and the finish at the bottom. He wanted to know if there should be a moulding along the bottom edge to cover the nails.

I've never had one on either side, but should there be one?

Default door cards

Don't want to be seeing any nails.
Not sure exactly where you are indicating. Do you mean the section that is carpeted below the door pocket?
Below that there should be an aluminium finisher for the bottom of the door. (Fits horizontally)
