Default 401 Petrol Tank Sender Unit

Hi,

I can't find my workshop manual at the moment and I'm not fit enough to get underneath.

Exactly where is the sender unit on a 401 petrol tank please. No guesses just a knowledgeable answer if poss.

Regards
Bob W

The sender unit sits on top of the tank. There is a cover in the boot at the back held by two screws and the unit is below on the right.

Take careful note of where the float goes in the tank as it will be fouled by the baffles if not fitted correctly.

Thanks Lads, that's a relief, I thought I might have to drop the tank. I must find my Workshop Manual!

As I will have to drop my fuel tank how are the staps fixed and are they easily accessed from below (not having any lifting facilities beyond wheel jack and axel stands)?

'Top side' isn't a problem.
