supercharged 403
I saw a 403 that had been extensively modified at Spencer Lane-Jones a few years ago. If I remember correctly, it had been fitted with a supercharger which had wrecked the engine. Peter Campbell or Spencer will remember it.

403 Blower
Kevin,
On page 63 of the Bristol Gold Portfolio book is an article called "Bristol Cream" on a blown 403. I can scan this for you if you like. I also seem, inadvertantly, to have unsubscribed from the forum. If anyone can correct this or tell me how to do it I would appreciate it. Peter McGough |

However, it is the same article that I recently came across while reading the 30 April 1954 edition of Autocar that prompted my question. At the end of the article it said that the modification was offered for approx £100 and I was wondering how many were modified. Maybe the pint of oil consumed by the supercharger every 500 miles was off putting! |

I have seen this car there quite recently. The Teardrop Special is also supercharged, as is Andrew Mitchell's Bristol special.
