Default Sevier paper

Greetings from Canada!

As a (retired) technical writer on automotive & aviation subjects, I greatly admire Bristol's application of aircraft thinking to automobiles. As part of an independent research project, I am seeking a copy of a 1954 I Mech E paper by Mr. Dennis Sevier.

I Mech E's librarian, Mr Adrian Clement -who has previously been most helpful - has identified the paper, but is unable to provide a copy.

Can anyone here help? I will gladly pay photocopying and postage costs, but suppose the easiest way would be to email me a PDF copy. In that latter case, we might solicit the intermediacy of the webmaster, to avoid the need to publish our respective email addresses.

Hope to hear from one of you,
Regards,
Forbes Aird

Default Dennis Sevier paper

Do you have the name of Dennis Sevier's paper? The Heritage Trust has some of his paperwork but I don't recall seeing this among them. More likely is that it remains among the 12 filing cabinets and plan chests of paperwork which the Heritage Trust very much hopes to acquire from the liquidators of Bristol Cars Ltd once the latest round of litigation is finally resolved. The term "can of worms" has been used by the liquidators, I couldn't possibly comment.
Dr John Hobbs, Dudley Hobbs' son has also published on the subject (see Design and the Bristol Car by Butterfield Press,) and Hobbs senior was at the heart of the interchange from aeronautical to automotive design and engineering.
Hope this helps.
all the best, Stefan

Thanks for responding, Stefan, and apologies for the rather obvious omission. The paper I am seeking is: 'The Influence of Aerodynamics on Automobile Design', by D. W. Sevier (Graduate).’ IMechE proceedings, v169, p502.

I have part of a something called "The Sevier Lecture". It comprises ten pages of the BOC newsletter/magazine #41 (Summer 1976) . It says "to be continued" so I assume there is more to it but unfortunately I don't the following edition, #42.

Forbes,

This thesis references Sevier's paper:

Maybe Sheffield Hallam University library still has a copy of the Sevier paper?

Thanks to both Dwomby and Kevin H.

I will contact Sheffield Hallam U. and inquire.

Kevin H.: I am sending you a p.m.

Does anyone have a copy of BOC newsletter/magazine #42?

Regards to all,
Forbes

If you get in touch with the Bristol Owners Club the bulletins (41 and 42) you appear to need are in their online archive.
Hope this is of some help.
Regards
Andrew

Thanks to Dwomby for the SHU connection; alas, they can't help. Thanks also to Andrew A. for the BOC suggestion, which I am now pursuing.

Still hoping someone will come up with a copy of the original Sevier paper.
