You could try a 1/4" whitworth ratchet spanner -king dick available on ebay.
KING DICK RATCHET COMBI SPANNER 1/4" WHITWORTH | eBay Its 72 clicks so every 5 degrees it gets a bite. I would like one of the correct spanners myself. I think they are termed an obstruction spanner. FH |

Hi, I loaned my Bristol Spanner out quite some years ago and never got it back, so I'm looking around.
Snap-on have "S" shaped spanners/wrenches in imperial AF sizes. IF the cylinder head nuts are 3/8" Whitworth then I beleive it would apparently be 1/2" AF? Snap-on SBX 1416 is 1/2" and 7/16". The cost including post and vat is £42.66 and I have just been quoted this. They are out of stock in the UK at the moment but I aim to try one if I can get the cylinder head nut size confirmed. I've only ever seen one for sale on EBAY and this went for about £100 or so. I can go back to the time a cylinder head complete with running gear was £89.50. I wish I had a shed full !!!!!!! Bob W |

I bought one of the ratchet spanners (earlier in thread) and it fits nicely on all the nuts on the inlet manifold side except the front and rear one.
It needs ground down further to fit the front and rear one. I have not done that yet but dont think its an issue. Graham |
