Default 401 ignition switch lucas 5 replacement

I am having problems with my ignition/lighting switch. I looked at the lucas plc5 aftermarket offerings but they are different from the bristol parts manual (manual quotes the lucas plc5) pics. Has anyone had to replace a 401 switch and if so how did they manage it. Any thoughts out there. Mike Say

Hi, my Lucas parts list shows the switch as PLC6 Part No. 34051. Mine is a bit loose and needs tightening but I'm afraid I've never had to replace one.

Default Faulty switch?

First of all: I have seen some of these switches at Beaulieu. Also, I had problems with my switch, as it was expected to do more than it could, as in run more than 10amps through it! I connected it's output straight to the coil, but only one other connection, to a relay to control the power of anything else I would want 'on' when the ignition was 'on'.
