Part number key
Looking at the Spares Manual, it seems at least some of the part numbers have a logic to them. Can someone in the UK ring Sid Lovesy and ask? The first three digits seem to be the car model (i.e. 409) when the part first came on stream. The middle number after the dash usually seems to be a "1". Then the last five digits may be purely sequential, or in some cases they may make a reference to the year (I am looking at the body parts, for example).
Also, it would be exceptionally helpful if someone who is retired and likes puzzles would see if they could create a cross-referencing manual in a spreadsheet that took the Bristol part number and got from Sid, Brian and anyone else remaining, to cross reference with a 3rd party part where Bristol sourced it in the first place. |

Alterparts.
Claude ,
I was a member of the Reliant Scimitar club who produced members for a booklet named as above. It was produced by the members for the members. A trawl through all the members for items which they have found would be a good start. For example, 407/8/9/10 door handles are also used by Rover. A separate section in the forum for people to drop in and add their discoveries may be a way forward. David |

That's what the two clubs are for ? And if you have Rover door handles on your 407/408/409/410 - it probably has the wrong handles on it ! BODA sell the correct ones that have been re manufactured
I think the originals were maybe shared with a Standard 10 ? Not worth getting originals re chromed due to monkey metal spitting lumps out during the process |

My 408 handles (which are original) appear identical to my 1959 Morris Oxford handles (unless there is some difference below the surface). 408 tail lights = Triumph Herald/Vitesse tail lights. Probably everyone knows that! |
