Removing the steering wheel on a 410

Can anyone please advise how to remove the steering wheel from a 410?

I need to get at the wiring behind the dash but to do that requires the removal of the steering wheel. I have taken off the centre cover with the horn push expecting to find a nut that would release the wheel but there is nothing but a circlip. I have tried pulling the wheel but it is not moving at all.

There is a metal ring behind the wheel with 3 holes around the circumference. Is that holding the wheel on? I have tried to move it but had no success.

Any advice would be appreciated.

The aluminium ring behind the steering wheel is the adjuster to enable the reach of the wheel to be altered. Take a 'C' spanner and apply it to the ring and turn it anti-clock-wise to release it.
You will then be able move the wheel nearer or further away but it will be stopped from coming off by the circlip which then needs to be removed to enable the wheel to be removed.

Brilliant, I got a C spanner this morning and have now got the wheel off. I had to turn it clockwise to losen it and the wheel came off easily.
