411 Radiator
Hi I am working on a customer's 1972 411 and am in need of a radiator. I am finding rather high quotes to have the unit recored. Does anyone know of a source for new radiators, either stock material or perhaps aluminum.
Also, can one obtain the electric fan switch which resides in the radiator that comes on at a lower temperature? Thank you. |

Here's one that fits the original mounting. It's got a pulling fan - much better that the original "pushing" Bristol set up. :

I should have also mentioned that BCL sells very good replacements. They are absolutely identical to the original radiator but in aluminum with the fans now in the back. I believe they are made by Radtech. However shipping from the UK might be prohibitive for you.

There must be plenty of places in the US that make custom aluminium rads and the fans can of course be bought separately. However, you don't have to go with aluminium. A standard radiator will suffice so long as the fans are good. The original design with the fans six inches in front of the radiator was not very effective by modern standards. But the flush mount fans we have available now make a huge difference. |
