Default ss manifold

Martin Barnes at ACCS is the man to ask. But it can be a bit of a trial getting action!
If you get the right SS item you first see an enormous weight saving. Under bonnet cooking is reduced when you switch off. Also performance gains are significant. The replacement will have the outlet in the middle ... which is shorthand for the fact you'll have to replace the down pipes. Peter

Thanks everyone, it makes it seem at least possible.
I also think the SS option sounds worthwhile.

Hello,

I don't know if the exhaust manifold of the 407 is the same as the 409, or anyway if a 409's 318 ci manifold can be fitted to the 407's 313 ci engine, but if it is, I have some spares.

I broke it and repaired it and I bought 2 more before we realized that the exhaust pipe coming down from the manifold was too short and it bumped on the chassis at every blip of the throttle, pulling on the red-hot manifold and making it break easily.... a spacer cured this problem.

All the best

Stefano

Hi Stefano, I think I read that the only difference between the two (apart from ancillaries) is the bore.
I would be very interested in purchasing a spare manifold from you if thats ok and if its the right part. First off though perhaps it would be prudent to send me a photograph so that i can compare it with the one thats on the car. thanks PF

The email and phone number for ACCS are

brisparts@aol.com

02072789786

Martin Barnes is extremely knowledgeable and a man of few words

Alternatively you might try Peter Cambell at Spencer Lane Jones

office@spencer-lj.com

01985847133

I know their exhaust manifolds (not SS) match to the original down pipes, which might save an infinity of trouble
