Default 409 Engine colour

Hello,
Whilst Chrysler used orange and blue as engine colours, I think the Bristol units were red. Is anyone able to confirm that please and if so, any particular shade? I can buy both Ford and Chev reds in engine enamel from the PPC range.

Here's the website of someone who seems to have looked into the question of engine colours with some thoroughness.

This is similar but with a few other manufactures colours mentioned which are close to the originals.

Default V8 colours,

Mine is an early 407 and after checking the colours on the Mopar site and other Chrysler sites , I found my colour was indeed silver and was correct. I thought it was repainted but it is as it left the factory.

Many thanks- confirming it was red on the 409. I found red traces under the orange which the previous had taken the trouble to cover over. I've located some pressure cans here in Australia from Pentastar Parts, but previously I've been happy with the brush or spray coatings from the PPC range
