Default 409 ignition switch & washers

Hello,
I wondered if anyone has found a source for a new Lucas ignition switch for the 409, Lucas part no 34641A. It's 4 position switch with 6 terminal positions on the back, 3 of which are double male lucar and the other 3 single male.. I have sent an email to Bristol Cars to see if they have one.

Second point- windscreen washer jets on the 409- where are they accessed from as regards fitment of new hoses. I've tried hard, but no luck so far!
Thanks

You can probably get one of these to work with the ignition.

For the washers pipe on my 408 , I had to access from under the dash around the glove compartment. I think I taped the tube to metal rods to aim it to the jet holes -- pain in the ....

The jets were moved to the bonnet on later cars.

Hello,
I couldn't find one but when it began to work erratically on my 409, my mechanic took it apart, cleaned and overhauled it and it worked very well afterwards. Maybe it is not always necessary to find new parrs.
Cheers
Stefano

Default Thanks on replies

The Holden UK has a switch that might do as a standby- just concerned on the thread length, but at only 15pds, worth a look. Fault appears to have disappeared too! It was on the auxliliary side
On the washers, I sort of guessed it might be behind the glove box, so here goes.

For the ignition switch, try rover P4/5 forum or Jaguar.

On my 408 the washer hoses are accessed from under the dashboard, I had to lie on the floor and look up! I also wired the hoses onto the fittings as a leak in this area could be disastrous.
