Default 603 tyres

Looks like I am getting a set of Blenheim alloys for my 603.
I have as far as I can tell a choise of either 215/70 or 225/65 tyres.
Given I am looking at a stroker 408 ci. engine for more torque can anyone shed any light on the pros and cones of these tyre options? I assume the 70 section will give a better ride but the 65 ratio will give better grip.

Obviously the rolling radius for thse twio options may impact on my speedometer
so again any feedback on this issue will be appreciated.

Cheers
Will

I think you'll struggle to find a suitable 225/65R15.

Your best bet is to find somewhere with some 215/70R15 P4000s left.

Phillip
Thanks for the feed back
looks like I can get 215 VR70 15 P400 for £162 each and 225VR65 15 P400 at £92each.
Odd that the bigger tyre is cheaper.

Bearing in mind that the profile is a percentage of the tyre width, there is very little difference in the width of the two. 65% of 225 is 145.25 compared with 70% of 215 which is 150.5
By my rough calculations, the circumference of the 225/65 will be about 98.5% of that of the 215/70
I have 215/70 tyres and my speedometer over reads by about 4% so the difference would be favourable for me. I would be more worried about the wider front tyres being too wide on full lock and coming into contact with something that they should not.
