Default Part number key

Looking at the Spares Manual, it seems at least some of the part numbers have a logic to them. Can someone in the UK ring Sid Lovesy and ask? The first three digits seem to be the car model (i.e. 409) when the part first came on stream. The middle number after the dash usually seems to be a "1". Then the last five digits may be purely sequential, or in some cases they may make a reference to the year (I am looking at the body parts, for example).

Also, it would be exceptionally helpful if someone who is retired and likes puzzles would see if they could create a cross-referencing manual in a spreadsheet that took the Bristol part number and got from Sid, Brian and anyone else remaining, to cross reference with a 3rd party part where Bristol sourced it in the first place.
