Recaro badge on seat lever
I am missing one of the AW Chapman Birmingham badges that are glued on the end of the seat recliner levers. Does anyone have a spare? I want the 411 looking just perfect on the Classic Car of the Year stand at the NEC!!!!
Pic attached so you know what I am talking about... |

Blimey - not paying that! Interesting that it has the Fulham address and my original one is Birmingham so would not work anyway but thanks for the link.
If anyone does have a spare one then a bottle of wine will be the reward! |

So should they be LEVEROLL from NW6 or Recaro from B'Ham ?
You could always just remove the "original" one and most people would be none the wiser. My 411 S5 doesn't have them and there's no indication that they were ever there! |

On closer inspection, on the drivers side of my car the black plastic knob has raised lettering on the end which says "KEIPER LIZENZ RECARO"
The knob on the passenger side is a smooth round black plastic with no identifying marks. There is no indication that the knob on either side has had anything glued to it. So it looks like the recliner mechanism was licenced to Recaro by Keiper, but there is nothing to say where it was made. This is on a 411 S5 |

The Recaro one is the same as my Astons so pretty sure it is correct - and it was still glued on the drivers side! I think the company changed hands in the late 1960s so these were probably from an old batch still being used in 1972 by Bristol. Bit like my engine, made in 1970.
The Aston certainly has them both sides and there is a glue residue on the passenger side so am certainly missing one of them. Will continue the hunt - I do like a challenge!!!! |
