6 cylinder engine colours

Just thought I'd repost this, (see below) as it didn't get a response first
time around.
Wondering, as I seem to get rather spasmodic forum postings, if either it
didn't get through, no one knows, or I've been excommunicated .............

I would add that the engine concerned was fitted to the one off FN cabriolet
they produced in 1951.
FN may I suppose have painted or repainted the engine themselves

I've noticed quite a few variations and wonder if they were all painted
a standard colour originally and have suffered aftermarket indignities, or
if it might have been a question of whatever paint pot was at hand etc.
