I was surprised to hear the news this morning that a takeover bid from Morgan Cars has been accepted.

I guess it could be a good fit and a three wheeler Speedster could look stunning, but not sure about the three wheeler Blenheim !

Is there any truth to the above? I have checked online and cannot find any reference to a Morgan takeover bid.

....well if nothing else they have plenty of practise in using wood in the construction, so maybe they see the opportunity in re-making 404 and 405s; compared with most of their current range they are quite modern......

Well a word of warning, today it's April Fools Day.....;-))))

This said, I would be very happy to see Morgan and Bristol working together.

Cheers from a (still) overheating 409,

Stefano

Default Bristol and Morgan- a marriage made in heaven

Perhaps in the interest of keeping these two specialty manufacturers alive is the top goal, and it does not hurt to use foreign money to do it. I would go so far as to designate them National Treasures. (the cars, not the foreign investors)

Default The buyout or bid to buyout?

I think it is all very real. We know Bristol is on the ropes, and has administrators right now taking care of business. As to a hoax, this is far to insignificant an issue for the press to cover, unless it is legitimate. Without stirring the pot too much, I have to say I have no interest in Morgan, and that goes back 50 years. Too much of an anacronism, and the units are far to large to place in antique shops.

Default Bristol's demise?

One can only hope that someone will come to the rescue, but in terms of Bristol being a good investment; wel, let us look for someone who wishes to spend their fortune or wants a good loss for tax purposes. Maybe a move to the US where we have so many tax dodges would be best. If General Electric can make billions and not owe anything, then the move would be attractive to some investors. In spite of the claims that we are in some sort of recession, I cannot see it from my perspective, and much spending is going on over here.
Perhaps a number of people with resources are looking to spend money while it still has some value.
