Ace Cafe
Many forum members will already know that Mark Alford, who runs the S.E. section of the BOC, has arranged with the owners of London’s legendary and iconic Ace Café to celebrate the 65 years of Bristol Cars on the evening of Wednesday 22nd. June with a gathering of our cars in the café car park. The meeting will be a free of charge informal gathering for all classic cars but Bristols will have pride of place i.e. priority parking right in front of the famous building.
This posting to the forum is to bring to the attention of any Bristol owner who may still be unaware of the event and to remind everyone else. The Ace has a large café / restaurant where we can get anything from a honest sized mug of tea to a solid British meal at very reasonable prices. There will be the chance to kick tyres and chat to owners of other classics as well as keeping our marque up front. It would be marvellous to see a good showing of Bristols on the night. The Classic Cars magazine sponsors a classics night at the Ace every month and I will negotiate with them, if enough Bristols show up, to perhaps include a write up with photos in the next edition of the magazine. There is plenty of parking generally around the premises, but the car park where our Bristols will line up is not all that large so please turn up as early as possible as spare spaces will otherwise be taken by other classics – anytime from 6 p.m. onwards would do the trick. If you can’t get there till later please come anyway and we will squeeze you in somehow. So please check your diaries and set aside the evening of 22nd. June for an experience with a difference ! We would like to see, with the help of you all, a really good showing of Bristols at this one off event. The Ace café is adjacent to the North Circular Road and is really easy to find once you hit North London. To get directions and read about the history of the Ace please go to Welcome to the Ace Cafe London Home Page There is no need to book in advance but an email to Mark at mark.alford@macpm.com notifying your intention to come would be much appreciated. Many thanks. Dave Dale. |
