![]() Many of these parts are still available new and not terribly expensive, if you ever need a replacement regulator it's always worth contacting Tim Hodgekiss of www.vintagemotorspares.com He is a really nice bloke too.
I've just discovered this Forum and am delighted to do so, it's more straightforward than the alternatives and I shan't be sad to see the back of a Yahoo account and the baggage that goes with it. I've a '49 400 Bristol that I've completely rebuilt, every tiny bit of it and I run www.jel450.com as well as www.kda132.com if anyone is interested. Ashley |

I don't have any trouble with using Yahoo, but I prefer not to use it or allow it to send emails to my computers. This is a far better and more useable Forum for me as it's much the same as any of the others I use and free of adverts etc. Ash |

![]() I'm still curious Ashley. Why not Yahoo - does it have some reputation I'm
not aware of? There must be something as you don't want it sending emails to your pc (or are you a mac man and that causes problems?). I don't get any adverts with it at all but that may be because I use AOL and it has excellent spam and adware blocking. I find the Yahoo forum by far the easiest to use, I get the whole message, I don't have to go to the forum at all, in fact I only do so if I want to see messages quicker (as I do daily digest). I also know that I get to see all the messages and find it really easy to follow the threads. It's probably just me being really naive but Yahoo forum is my favourite and the one I'm most likely to use. Philippa |

![]() I know some people believe that signing up to Yahoo discussion forums results in increased spam. I can't be sure either way. Sooner or later everyone will get spam, even my eight year old son is getting spam now to our personalised family domain, no doubt to do with some game forum he has signed up to. Realistically anything that is commercial is open to suspicion.
However, the BOC "forum" on Yahoo is essentially just a mail list. It has no categorisation, nor does it have a permanent repository for information, I don't think it even allows attachments. Philippa, I don't recall seeing your photo of the Monteverdi Sierra on the BOC Yahoo mail list ? Over the years I have seen many comments for and against the various Bristol related forums and have seen numerous people come and go for a variety of reasons. This site is a bit of a hybrid aimed at accommodating as many people's needs as possible, but the old adage remains true - you can't please all of the people all of the time ![]() |
